Spider Misting Systems

What is a spider misting system?

Spider misting systems have been popular in lake communities around Texas and Oklahoma for over 20 years. Similar to a mosquito misting system, a spider control system consists of an installed network of tubing and nozzles around the area that spiders are congregating. These systems are popular on boat docks and lake houses, as well as rural homes and barns that have problems controlling the spider population. By scheduling regular misting cycles late at night when spiders are most active, we can target them to reduce web build up and unsightly spider droppings on your home or boat dock.

How does a spider misting system work?

By running a series of tubing and nozzles around the selected area, we are able to consistently create a zone of protection with regularly scheduled misting cycles. All of this is controlled by the CoastalMister system, which can be placed near your home or boat dock. Once the system is installed, you will see a dramatic decrease of spider activity within as little as 7 days.

What types of chemicals are used? And are they safe?

There are a few different options when it comes to misting system chemicals. All of these products have been extensively tested by their manufacturers, and approved by the EPA for use in residential automatic misting systems. Each product has a specific dilution rate, carefully developed by entomologists (bug scientists) to deliver the absolute minimum required amount to affect the targeted insects without harming humans or pets.
